2009-02-27 First round finished

The first round of Golden Tour has ended and the points for Couronne has been updated on the homepage. A lot of players have been banned due to inactivity (not enough games played). A new group division has been made as well. DaCa will invite the remaining players to their new groups before next round starts. For the seeding the top 50 players based on the total score has been chosen. If number 50 in the pointslist has the same points as number 51, 52, 53 the player that signed up for GT first will have an advantage. The seeded players were put in a vector randomly and then the rest of the players were put in a vector randomly. The the groups were divided.

2009-02-01 Golden Tour has started

Now Golden Tour 2009 finally has gotten started, all 3 games started today at 6pm. Good Luck everyone! I recommend all participants to really go through and read the rules. One of the most common questions I get is "why does only 2 proceed". In the tours it looks like only 2 players will proceed to finalplay, of course it aint that way. ALL players get rankingpoints from without their standing in the tournament when the finaldate has arriwed and the tournament is played through. The winner then gets 100 points, 2nd gets 90 points, 3rd gets 80 points, 4th gets 70 points and so on, til everyone has gotten their portion of it. Then the second month starts with new drawn lots of groups, and then we play in about 1 months time of new rankingpoints. The 16 players that has the most points after the 5 months of qualification goes to the finalplays. So, never give up.. there is always a chance to move forward. The end-ranking of GOlden Tour will also function like a template for future tournaments if we need to see how good some players are, so dont give up because of this reason too. 2009-02-01

The seeding of players and the dividing in groups are now in progress. Until 6 pm the groups on the homepage are to be considered preliminary and might change. This due to that players that will not participate wasn't deleted from the list before the first dividing was done. More about how the groups were divided will be described here later!

2009-01-09 Design of the homepage

I have worked hard to get the site running well before Golden Tour starts. I think that I am satisfied with the design and functionality as it is now but feel free to leave comments and suggestions to what can be improved be either emailing me at admin@goldentour.shockplay.com or in the guestbook.

Hopefully everything will run smoothly now and also when the tournament starts.
